Glass Care

Everyday Care

Dust the surface with a dry cotton cloth as needed. When your glass needs to be cleaned, use a mixing solution of warm water and a neutral-pH soap mixture to wash your glass. (ie.Dawn) Apply the mixture to your glass with a soft lint free rag. Please Note: Do not use harsh chemicals or anything acidic such as ammonia or vinegar it will damage the metal.

Long-Term Care

Oxidation will occur, it’s natural. To remove oxidation from a silver colored leaded surface use a fine steel wool pad to rub away the oxidation. Next apply a standard car polish to the piece with a dry cotton cloth. Wait till dry then buff away to reveal a shiny surface. This will leave streaks on the glass so i recommend using a little dry whiting powder and a dry cloth to eliminate streaks. Do not use steel wool on any pieces that have been finished with black or copper patina. This will rub away the patina finish.

 

Is it possible to purchase a piece that sold?

You sure can!

Under the ”Customer Service” link click on the “CONTACT US” page in the subject line type “Custom Piece” then in the message box type the item’s name that you are interested in. Please note: All Stained Glass sheets are unique in that no two are exactly a like. We will use the same sheet of glass but there will always be slight variations within the glass due to the manufacturing process.

If we no longer have that particular color glass in stock, we can purchase a new one starting at a minimum up charge of $2.00 per color. (Pricing will depend on how many cuts will be made out of the glass)
If you are open to using a similar piece of glass we have in stock there will be at no additional charge. We will email you a picture of the glass that we believe is similar to the original color. We will not start on the piece until we have received an okay from the buyer as well as a 30% downpayment, which is non-refundable.

 

Custom Piece

Interested in a custom piece?

We love them!

Simply go to the “Contact US” page and in the subject line type “Custom Piece” briefly describe what you have in mind and we will get back to you. Once we get an idea what you had in mind we require a $10.00 payment for sketch(es). Please allow 5-7 business days to fully complete your design. When you give us the “Okay” to move forward we require a 30% downpayment, which is non-refundable.

 

is lead dangerous?

We use 60/40 lead solder on all pieces. (60% Tin, 40% Lead)

Lead is only dangerous if it is inhaled or ingested. As a precaution be sure to wash your hands after handling.

 

Why Did i receive a small refund?

When buying multiple items Squarespace charges shipping for each package according the the weight of each item. If possible we will put your items in the same box which will make the package lighter in weight. The small refund is the difference that you paid compared to what we paid for your shipping cost.
